Get Outside This Spring!

The days before the black flies and mosquitos show up might be numbered at this point, so now is the time to get outside!

While so many activities are cancelled or closed, during the stay-at-home order, the outdoors are not – hiking and biking are always an option.

Just minutes from Downtown Bracebridge is access to some of Ontario’s most pristine wilderness and waterways. Below is a collection of the some of the best trails in Bracebridge.

Wilson’s Falls Trail

Follow the edge of the Muskoka River as the landscape changes from a lush green forest to the exposed rock of the Canadian Shield. The water cascades over the waterfall and the river takes an S-curve at the base of the falls. Depending on the season you visit, the falls will have different water levels providing the opportunity to view the power of the running water or explore the driftwood that has been left behind.

Bracebridge Resource Management Centre

The Bracebridge Resource Management Centre is a unique trail system to explore. With many kilometres of interesting trails, everyone can find a trail for their skill level. Enjoy the many trails designated for hiking and mountain biking. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the woodland scenery, courtesy of the many benches found throughout the trails. For bikers, there is a mix of double and single track, making these trails perfect for all abilities. Porcupine Ridge

Porcupine Ridge is rated as one of the most technically challenging mountain bike parks in Ontario and is not suited for beginner riders. This trail system contains features, steep hills, rocks, and roots. There are many man-made technical features, including suspension bridges and raised ladder bridges. Porcupine Ridge is the perfect place to challenge your technical riding skills against the local Muskoka granite. Strawberry Point Trail

Strawberry Point Trail takes a diverse route through lowlands, rock cuts and ends with a hilltop view overlooking Lake Muskoka. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy your surroundings.

Downtown Historic Walkway

The Downtown Historic Walkway is a great way to learn about the rich history that surrounds Bracebridge’s Downtown. The trail guides visitors around Bracebridge Bay with checkpoints to learn about the view in front of you.
