Canada Day Weekend Adventure in Bracebridge

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, we have come to recognize the importance of appreciating everything around us. The Muskoka community is fortunate to have lakes, waterfalls, and hiking trails easily accessible, not to mention the unique shops in Downtown Bracebridge. Canada Day Long Weekend might look a little different this year without the celebrations we are used to, like the Downtown street party, the iconic fireworks over the silver bridge, and dock parties. But we want to make it a memorable one!

Visit the Bridge has partnered with Driftscape a travel app, to guide you through a Canada Day Weekend Adventure in Bracebridge!

1. Walk Across the Bracebridge Falls

Your first stop in Bracebridge should always be to the Bracebridge Falls. From Kelvin Grove Park in Downtown Bracebridge there is a gravel and paved path that allows you to walk right next to the water and even has a pedestrian bridge that gives you the opportunity to walk up and over the falls!

3.

Chasing Waterfalls at

Wilson’s Falls Trail

The third stop on your weekend adventure in Bracebridge is a hike at Wilson’s Falls Trail. Wilson’s Falls Trail is our favourite hike in Bracebridge. It is minutes from Downtown, but you are surrounded by pristine Muskoka wilderness. Just steps from the trail head is the picturesque Wilson’s Falls that cascades over Muskoka granite before it continues on down the river. You could spend all day relaxing on the rocks, enjoying the views and searching through the driftwood that has been left behind.

4. Caesars and Local Beer at The Old Station

After a Wilson’s Falls hike you might appreciate a relaxing dinner on The Old Station Patio in Downtown Bracebridge! Nothing like a classic Canadian Caesar or a local Muskoka craft beer to ring in the 147th anniversary of the Constitution Act! The Old Station restaurant has been a fixture in Downtown Bracebridge since 1985 and it only makes sense to include it in your Long Weekend Adventure in Bracebridge.

5. Sunset Over

Lake Muskoka

Finish your day taking in the sunset over Lake Muskoka from Bowyer’s Beach, this is the perfect spot to celebrate the beauty of Muskoka. If you have ever visited the Muskoka Region, you might have fond memories of the sunsets that fill the sky with mixtures of cotton candy colours and vibrant oranges that are reflected back off the lake.
